Shallow Foundation Gen

Hi Dear All
I want to use ShallowFoundationGen for modeling foundation in my frame. I think this command make nodes symmetric to the origin coordinates but not related to the coordination of main foot node. if we have more than one column for making foundation, all of the foundation nodes are around origin coordinates. Also in the documentation pdf file in opensees wiki for the second foot of the second example node coordinates that are generated in the Foundation_2.tcl have negative X values that put them symmetric to the X=0 !! is that correct? what is the problem?

print command for element

Hi dear all
I want to print some elements information in a file with print command. but I just want to print specific type of elements in domain (e.g quad element) other than other element types (e.g beamclolumn). how it is possible? can I use region command? how?

strain recorder

Hi Dear All
I want to get strain of one of the quad elements such as quad or shellmitc4. which of quad elements can give me strain to calculate strain energy of the element? when I use the following recorder for element shellmitc4 it contains 8 columns of output. what are these columns?

nDMaterial ElasticIsotropic $matTag $E $v ;

section PlateFiber $secTag $matTag $Thick ;

element ShellMITC4 1 1 2 8 7 $secTag ;
recorder Element -file ele2.txt -ele 1 material 3 deformation ;

Thanks

eigen error

Hi dear all
I have a steel frame with concentrated plastic hings. when I use eigen command before gravity analysis there is no error and give me correct eigen values. but when I use eigen command after gravity analysis program stop to work and get "opensees has stop working" error.
what is the problem?

Re: rigidDiaphragm and fix

Many thanks for your kindly reply
but my question is that we have to put fix command of center of mass node BEFORE rigidDiaphragm command or AFTER it?

1-
fix 9001 0 0 1 1 1 0
rigidDiaphragm 3 9001 101 102 103 104 105 106 107

2-
rigidDiaphragm 3 9001 101 102 103 104 105 106 107
fix 9001 0 0 1 1 1 0

which one is correct with transformation constraints?

rigidDiaphragm and fix

Hi dear all
when we want to define a rigid floor in a 3D frame we have to use rigidDiaphragm command and also we have to define a node as a center of mass. my question is is it necessary to define fix command afrer rigidDiaphragm or is not important? what is the rule?
